Going to the original Cambridge
I had a lot of fun on my first night at the hostel. But those guys left the next and everybody else isn't quite as cool. That and I think I would really like a little privacy. Also, I definitely feeling like I'm a little too old to properly apreciate a hostel. So I think unless I'm with friends who want to go to a hostel. I'd prefer to just go to hotels.
I'm also feeling very touristed out. So, today I'm going to a hotel in Cambridge and mainly focus on going to cool events at the university and working on my programming project. In the future, I think this blog will be more of a technical blog. Maybe, my next post I'll write some thoughts about my programming project.
I went to Westminster abbey yesterday. It did not nearly have the ambience that the cathedral in Bremen had, but it had the graves and memorial of Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin. So that was pretty cool.

Fancy new camera
I got myself a fancy new camera today. It cost me 200 pounds but it was worth it. I took a lot of pictures from my site seeing rounds today so take a look in my facebook profile.
I'm a little touristed out so I think I'll try to go to an event instead of seeing the sites tomorrow. There is so much to do in London, I'm sure I can easily keep busy untill schools starts.

Partying it up with some Swiss guys in London
I was feeling all sorts of social anxiety yesterday about going to the hostel dorm in London. This proved to be unnecessary because right after I arrived, I meet 3 Swiss guys with whom I commenced partying untill the wee hours of the morning. I even danced it up at a dance club, which I know is quite shocking to most people who know me. Anyway, that took care of any social needs I had. Now I'm ready to wander the streets of London in search of sites to see. More like, negotiate the crowds in hopes that I don't get too lost on my way to tourist spots.

Going to London
The night after my last blog, I was able to sleep at regular hours and the next day I felt much better. Could I have had loneliness caused by lack of sleep? Or maybe it was caused by my having too much time to think while trying to go to sleep? Who knows.
Well I decided to go somewhere for my final week and a half before school starts. I spent yesterday deciding where to go and today making my plans for the trip. And the winner is.....London!!! I set up a round trip flight to london and ordered a bunk in a shared Hostel dorm that I will share with 11 others. I've never done this before but Rick Steves says it's the thing to do, and if Rick says jump, I jump!
Prices for food here are extremely cheap. I went to the store and got some food. I was expecting to pay 15 euro but only cost 5,50 (they use a , instead of a . ).

Feeling a bit lonely and planning my trip to London
I visited Jacobs university yesterday. The campus was small and the building were pretty unimpressive, but people were talking about cool academic topics. At least I think they were. Most of the people were talking in German. When I got back, I decided to program a little and promptly fell asleep and woke up 2 hours later. I then programmed 'till 2 in the morning. After that I tried to sleep but couldn't. In fact, I couldn't sleep all night. I'm just now feeling tired and it is 9:30 AM.
Instead of sleeping last night I laid in bed and felt lonely and introverted. I'm thousands of miles away from my friends and family and I have a hard time comunicating with everybody I see. I think a good option for me would be to spend the rest of my time visitting England and meeting people in the hostils. I'm reading Rick Steve's travel guide and it says I should spend some time making a good itinery. So here's my rough draft:
Take plane to Edinburgh Aug 15.
stay in Edinburgh untill Aug 18
Take train from Edinburgh to London Aug 18
stay in London untill Aug 22
Take train to Brussell on 22
stay in Brussells untill Aug 24
Come back to Bremen a day before orientation on the 24th
I'm feeling really tired right now, so I think I'll take a 2 hour nap early so hopefully I can sleep tonight.

I'm in Germany now. It has been an amazing experience. One which I'm incapable of giving justice to in this blog. You'll just have to come visit. The trip down was relatively smooth, at least after we dealt with the fact that my last and first names were swapped on the plane ticket. The night I arrived, I just planned today's trip and tried to deal with jet lag. Today, I visitted historic downtown. And I mean really historic. The absolutely beautifull cathedral in down town began in 1042! I'm going to Jacob's University tomorrow. Hopefully I can find a place on campus to stow my luggage so that I can cavort around Europe for the next week and a half. I felt like a jerk because everybody knew better English than I knew German. It's funny, a lot of the signs in Germany are in English, but I never heard anybody speaking English. I heard other non-English languages from other tourists, like Hindi and such, but I never heard English. Well I'm going to work on figuring out the bus route to Jacob's U. Talk to y'all later.
